Senior Laboratory Technician
Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Laboratory Technician to lead laboratory testing activities and ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical results for water and wastewater treatment systems. The successful candidate will supervise laboratory operations, maintain quality control procedures, train junior staff, and support project teams with technical analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and supervise physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses of water and wastewater samples.
Review laboratory results and verify data accuracy before reporting.
Develop and implement laboratory quality control and quality assurance procedures.
Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments.
Prepare technical reports and laboratory documentation.
Supervise and train Junior Laboratory Technicians.
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety regulations and environmental standards.
Manage laboratory chemicals, reagents, equipment maintenance, and inventory.
Support commissioning and operation of water and wastewater treatment plants through laboratory analysis.
Coordinate with project engineers and operation teams to optimize treatment performance.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years of laboratory experience in water or wastewater treatment.
Strong knowledge of APHA Standard Methods or equivalent laboratory testing standards.
Experience operating laboratory equipment such as:
Spectrophotometer
pH Meter
Turbidity Meter
DO Meter
COD Reactor
BOD Incubator
Conductivity Meter
Knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory practices is an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.
Good report writing and Microsoft Office skills.
Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Skills
Experience in drinking water, industrial wastewater, or sewage treatment laboratory.
Understanding of water treatment processes (Coagulation, Sedimentation, Filtration, UF, RO, SBR, MBBR, etc.).
Knowledge of laboratory safety and chemical handling.
Ability to work under pressure and maintain accurate records
Minimum 3–5 years of laboratory experience in water or wastewater treatment.
